There’s no place like Grapevine for Christmas events and activities. There are many indoor and outdoor areas for taking Christmas photos. Check out these events to keep the kids busy during the school holiday. Under no circumstances should you head down to Grapevine without your camera. Get out your planner and make plans now.

ICE! The Nutcracker
•thru January 4, 2013

This year's prevention of ICE! at the Gaylord Texan is none other "The Nutcracker". Make sure to check out some of your favorite scenes. The life-size Nativity scene is still included in this presentation. This is one production where picture taking is not only allowed but encouraged.

Ticket prices are $16.95 - $29.95

In addition to the ICE presentation the Gaylord will offer “Greet and Meet the characters of ICE!”.

7:00 PM

This annual parade of lights features over 100 lighted floats and marching bands. Parade takes place along the historic Main Street in downtown Grapevine. Santa will take time out of his busy schedule to board a float, so be on the lookout for him.

This is a FREE event.


December 13-15, 2013

December 20-23, 2013

This train ride is a wonderful and memorable experience. In addition to the train ride, you will enjoy live performances by carolers, elves and other Christmas characters. This ride would not be complete without a reading of a Christmas story and a silver Santa bell. Nothing compares with they look of wonder when the kids receive their silver bell. After the train ride you will enter a Christmas Tree Maze into a staged area where Santa Helpers and other characters will provide live performances. The event will end with an appearance by Santa himself.

Tickets are $25.00 per person for ages 13 months to adult. Please note that price includes a memory mug and silver bell for each child. Santa gift to each family will be family voucher for a family photo with him at the North Pole General Store.

This event is a fun for adults 21 and over. Price includes:

Time of event are as follows:

  • Fridays 2:00 – 5:00 PM
  • Saturdays 12:00 – 5:00 PM
  • Sundays 1:00 – 4:00 PM

The entire downtown area along Main Street is light up with the sounds and sights of Christmas. Stroll around the area and stop to take picture at various spots set up with Christmas scenes. Be on the lookout for sighting of several characters on stilts. Tractor-drawn wagon rides are available for $1.00 per person.

6:00 PM – 11:00 PM

The city Christmas Tree and entire downtown area is covered in lights. The light show is a choreographed light show in the Town Square Gazebo area.

This is a FREE event.

6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

If you're looking for a different sort of Christmas parade to float your boat, make your way to the Twinkle Light Boat Parade. This is one of the most unique Christmas parades you will ever see! You will find water crafts decorated in all of the finest sparkling lights to celebrate the season. This floating festival begins at Twin Coves Marina and picks up entries at each marina including Scott's Landing and Silver Lake. The parade is visible from the shores of Lake Grapevine and the Glass Cactus Nightclub at Gaylord Texan Resort. This event is free.
