'Twas the day before Christmas Eve and all through the world, we squeezed in last minute health check-ups -- so many, absurd. That's what happens when there's such a big shift in healthcare.
So, this morning, the scene went like this:
"This actually happened this morning: went for my annual check up. A young woman sat down across from me in the waiting room along with her 3-4 year old daughter. The little girl looked at me in utter horror and walked over to and said, "Santa, why are you in a doctor's office?" Fortunately I had the "presents" of mind to reply, "I'm ok, honey, Santa is just getting a check up before the big trip tonight!" Her mom mouthed, "thank you," as I went in for my appointment."
