A family gathering around holiday time brings everyone together. Each family is celebrating in many different ways. One way to show your love is by preparing everyone’s favorites to serve before and after dinner. Tis' the season! So enjoy the most snackable time of the year. There are hungry mouths to feed and many wonderful drinks and desserts to serve.
Start off the party with a few tasty beverages such as a cocktail that is different from any other with a cup of steamy hot eggnog coffee punch or a creamy hot hazelnut cocktail. Don’t forget about the children and serve them up a drink that is a favorite of theirs for ages by stirring up a batch of malted milk hot cocoa.
Later on when dinner is over it is time for dessert. There always seems to be room for a treat or two. Whether you decide on a slice of pie, cake or dive into the cookie jar there is at least one that appeals to every one of all ages. One holiday favorite cookies is the Nutter Butter reindeer cookie. Not only is it cute to look at it filled with peanut butter and a taste that has everyone delighted to give them a try. Maybe the children took a break and went outside to play in the snow. A fun treat when they return back inside are snow ball cookies that are covered with white powdered sugar and just the right size for little hands.
There are lots of other desserts, drinks, cookies, cakes and pie recipes to consider baking and stirring up for the holidays. The Jackson Cooking Examiner has an array of choices that may be just what you are looking to sink your teeth in this holiday season.
