Connie Villa, 35, was arrested for allegedly killing her 13-year-old daughter on Christmas Day, according to a Yahoo! News report on Sunday. The mother of four children attempted to kill her three other children and her ex-husband as well.
The Casa Grande Police Department in Arizona charged Villa with first-degree murder for the death of her oldest child, Aniarael Macias. The girl was found dead in the bathroom of the apartment where the mother and children lived.
In the police report, it is believed that Villa contacted Adam Villa, her ex-husband, on Christmas Day to come over to her apartment with the sole purpose of killing him. The woman stabbed her ex-husband several times when he arrived, but he got away, called police, and drove himself to a hospital.
Arriving at the scene found it necessary to force the door open. When doing so, they found the woman holding a knife to her chest, having already given herself self-inflicted wounds.
The younger children – aged 3, 5, and 8 – were not stabbed, but at a hospital it was found that they had poison – opiates – in their systems.
Adam Villa is the father of the three younger children, but not of the dead girl. The three surviving children are staying with the father’s family while he recuperates in the hospital.
