Over the years I have tried several different approaches with Christmas cards. Let me share some ideas with you:
Order photo Christmas cards online. I have gotten mine at 50% off through Vista Print.com.
Have your children draw a picture and have it printed on the cover of your Christmas cards! Take the drawn picture to a business that makes copies and work with them to turn it into cards for family and friends.
Many Christian stores have buy on get one free sales starting at the end of summer on their Christmas Cards,
Inside of your cards you can add a family picture for the recipient.
You can also make your own Christmas cards. You can use rubber stamps and come up with some really pretty cards.
If you do a search online, you can find some new ideas for these!
You can also take a Scripture or saying, print it off on your printer and add it to the inside of each card.
Make Christmas post cards and save money on stamps. You will also be saving paper because they do not require envelopes.
Send e-cards when you can.
You can also write a family newsletter or letter about what new things your family had going on through the year and add a letter inside each card.
You can even skip cards all together and just send the family newsletter or letter.
Have multiple 4x6 family pictures printed, have everyone sign the back and mail out in envelopes. Be sure to write Merry Christmas on the back with the signatures. These are great to send in the place of Christmas cards.
I hope these ideas have jogged your creative juices. Get creative! Who says we have to send the standard store bought Christmas cards?
Special tip: If you have left over Christmas cards (with an exception of photo cards) swap the leftovers with a friend as to not send duplicates the following year!
