If you plan to visit Universal Orlando Resort for Christmas this year, you'll want to allow a full two days so you can hit both of the theme parks. They each have plenty of rides that are on tap all year 'round. That's plenty to do on its own, but when you add in the holiday entertainment, that makes it quite a challenge to see and do everything.
Here are some highlights of the celebration, and you can see them in the overview video accompanying this article:
Grinchmas show: If you love the TV classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" or the Jim Carrey movie, you'll love the fact that this show gives you the best of both worlds. It tells the story with a mixture of narration, songs, and hilarious Grinch antics. You'll even see Max the dog live on stage. Jump to this article for a full video of this year's version. If you'd like to see my interview with the Grinch, go here.
Mannheim Steamroller concerts: The Grinch show features music by Mannheim Steamroller, and you can also see the band live on select nights through December 22. They appear in the evening, and their Christmas concert is included with your theme park admission ticket. If you'd like to see the Grinch segment they performed live in their 2013 concert, jump to this article.
Macy's Parade: There's no need to shiver in New York when you can see real Macy's balloons right at Universal Studios Florida in a daily parade. If you'd like to see this year's full parade, which includes bands, singers, dancers and other performers in addition to the massive balloons, jump to this article.
The parade includes a brand new balloon and musical number this year. Jump to this article for a video.
