In a ballroom shocker, Christina Milian was booted from “Dancing with the Stars” despite earning the first 10 of the season for her lively cha cha. The elimination, which aired on Monday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m., stunned fans, celebrities and judges alike.
This week’s performances were dedicated each dance to the celebrity’s most memorable year in life. MIlian dedicated hers to 2010, the year she not only gave birth to her son but learned quite publicly that her husband was cheating on her.
All three judges sang her praise and gave her high marks with head judge Len Goodman awarding the season’s first 10. Christina earned a season high score of 28.
The elimination came down to Christina who had the highest score of the night and Leah Remini who had the lowest score. The shocked expressions of both contestants told the story.
Milian had this to say about her elimination:
“I wasn’t expecting that, but you know, we had, I think, the best performance tonight that we’ve had thus far.”
This is not the first time that an excellent dancer was eliminated because not enough fans voted to keep them. Sabrina Bryan was notoriously voted off in week 6 of season 5 despite being atop the leader board regularly.
Tune in next week when “Dancing with the Stars” returns on Monday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.
