Christina Aguilera spray tan debacle at Etta James' Funeral not monthly visitor

At last, the Christina Aguilera spray tan debacle has been solved. The mystery drip down her leg while singing at Etta James' funeral, contrary to tabloid rumors, was not a monthly female visitor. 

The Genie in a Bottle singer became the subject of a lot of social media and tabloid fodder recently while paying tribute to her idol. 

While belting out the heartfelt tune "At Last," made famous by Etta James, a crimson-like liquid streamed down the Grammy-Award-winning songstress’s leg.

Immediately, sites like Twitter and Facebook buzzed with rumors suggesting that it was an unexpected female monthly visitor that came in the worst of times. 

However, according to the Huffington Post, Christina Aguilera's mysterious leg drip (shown here) was due to spray tan.

It seems that a combination of poor planning, application, and tight-fitting clothes may have led to the stream of liquid spray tan down her leg. 

It’s happens all the time in Las Vegas during performances on The Strip, especially with local acts.

Folks in Sin City are accustomed to seeing frequent wardrobe malfunctions, as dancers, singers, and performers in the entertainment destination scurry for the next curtain. In short, what happened to the “Lady Marmalade” singer could happen to anyone.

Nevertheless, Christina Aguilera’s spray tan moment shows just how much of a professional "The Voice" judge is when facing adversity. While she did appear to take notice of the wayward stream, she didn't bat an eye. Instead, she did on stage what she had to do, by honoring Etta James in song. 

"There's a line in this song that says, 'I found a dream that I could speak to,' and for me, that dream all my life has been Etta James. I've aspired to sing like her, to be like her. to emulate her notes and her passion and the love for what she did. I could feel it, and out of all the singers I've ever heard, she was the one that cut right to my soul and spoke to me. So tonight, Etta, this song is for you," Aguilera said to the audience before singing "At Last."

According to a recent interview, the late singer inspired her over the years, and has been an instrumental beacon of light throughout her career. They met during a magazine shoot years ago, but Christina took away some valuable words of wisdom, including "being true to yourself," citing an AOL story.
