Looking slim and sexy, Christina Aguilera has been earning admiration for the weight that she shed during her sabbatical from "The Voice." Now sources are revealing that she owes some of that weight loss to a holistic treatment known as Reiki, reported Xpose Entertainment on Dec. 13.
"It's a Japanese method for healing the body, emotions, mind and spirit. Christina also credits a low-carb diet and yoga workouts for her new look," said a source.
However, "Reiki puts her mind in a good place and gives her the discipline to eat healthy and maintain weight loss."
And when it comes to yoga, Christina has shared the benefits with her contestants, reported Us Weekly.
Christina introduced two of her contestants to her own yoga instructor Christa and talked about the benefits that she's experienced as a singer.
"Today I brought in my yoga instructor, she's helped me so much as a vocalist," announced Christina. "For Jacquie, part of the coaching is helping her get more centered in her body."
Casually attired, Christina did yoga stretches with the contestants.
"Ooh, is that your back?" Christina laughed at one point. "That's great! That's some stagnant energy in there."
And her artists expressed their appreciation.
"Being here with Christina Aguilera doing a yoga lesson is amazing," said crackling Jacquie. "Yoga gives me a better understanding of where my breath is coming from for a performance."
In addition to yoga, Life & Style magazine reported that the superstar singer has been enjoying a low carb diet. A day in her diet:
- Breakfast includes "blueberries, half an avocado and turkey bacon, an ideal combo of healthy fats and protein."
- Snacks: Celery with almond butter or a shrimp cocktail.
- Lunch: Chicken with a salad.
- Dinner: Lean protein.
