Christina Aguilera is fit and fabulous after losing 40 pounds since April 2013. Christina has credited a low-carb diet and yoga workouts for her amazing slim-down.
Aguilera's diet combines high-quality fats like avocado with lean proteins like chicken breast or fish for lunch and dinner and includes healthy snacks like almond butter with celery.
Christina, who was once criticized for her over-the-top outfits, now prefers a more understated approach to looking good.
"Trying too hard to be sexy is the worst thing you can do," she told Maxim. "Sexiness should be effortless. I'm such a down-to-earth girl, I'm comfortable in just a jersey and boy's underwear."
Aguilera, 32, has undergone a dramatic weight-loss transformation from her heaviest in September 2012. The small-boned, 5-foot-2 Christina gained a noticeable amount of weight in 2010, around the time she split from her music producer-husband Jordan Bratman.
Since then, Aguilera has been called too fat by radio shock jock Howard Stern and made headlines for her disheveled, bloated appearance at a 2011 Michael Jackson tribute concert. While the Grammy winner had insisted she loved her fuller figure, she now looks dramatically thinner than she has in years.
In May 2008, Aguilera revealed her pride at shedding 40 pounds just four months after giving birth to son Max.
Christina shed the baby weight by combining cardiovascular workouts and weight-lifting for 90 minutes a day, five days a week, and following a diet high in protein and vegetables.
"I feel a sense of accomplishment," she gushed. "As you feel your body getting stronger, you become more motivated to be in the gym! It doesn’t matter how big or small you are. When you’re defined, it’s sexy. I exercise because it makes me feel good. It’s not just a physical thing."
