A Great Big World - comprise of members Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino - originally recorded "Say Something" alone for their new album. Aguilera caught wind of the ballad and wanted to get involved and sing it with them.
"I'm only taking on projects that feel good to me and represent a purpose of the 'here and now' in my life, and that's what this song 'Say Something' actually does for me," Aguilera said about the collaboration.
The duet version of "Say Something" with A Great Big World and Aguilera will be released to digital retailers on Monday, November 4. The two acts will then perform the single on "The Voice" the following day.
Aguilera is currently serving as a coach on season 5 of "The Voice." She recently released the single "We Remain" from the soundtrack to "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire."
