Supermodel Christie Brinkley turns 60 next month, but looks decades younger, thanks to regular exercise and her longtime vegetarian diet.
Christie and her fellow over-40 supermodels Kathy Ireland, Tyra Banks, and Heidi Klum all attended a party celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in Hollywood Jan. 14.
Not surprisingly, each of the age-defying beauties has her own secrets for looking as youthful and fit as they do.
Brinkley skis, dances and rides her bike. The fit mom of three, who has followed a vegetarian diet since age 12, also does yoga, strength-trains and walks a lot. Christie tries to sneak in calisthenic exercises as soon as she wakes up in the morning.
"I try to get in 100 push-ups every day," said Brinkley. "It's really easy. I keep a rolled up yoga mat under my bed. I'll do 30 push-ups before I get in the shower. Then I do another 20 before I dry my hair, and now I've done 50. After I dry my hair, I'll come back and I'll do more."
Meanwhile, Kathy Ireland, 50, prefers outdoor workouts, while Tyra Banks, 40, does Pilates and cycles. Heidi Klum runs, strength-trains and avoids processed foods. As her four kids have gotten older, Heidi, 40, does sports with them to stay in shape.
"Having kids, I am trying to integrate their activity into my life," said Klum, who swims, jumps on the trampoline and walks her dogs with her kids.
