Those Christians who have been going on the spiritual journey through the season of Advent will reach their destination as they attend the wonderful Christian worship services held on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
For the last three weeks many Christians have listened to joyful carols, read the Scriptures, and listened to inspiring messages about how Jesus Christ fulfilled the many Bible passages that God gave to His people about the coming of a Messiah that would make it possible for sinful people to be reconciled and have a close relationship with our holy God.
Then, during the wonderful Christian Christmas worship services as Christians sing the joyful carols, hear the Scriptures read describing the birth of Jesus to Joseph and Mary, and hear inspiring messages about how God loved the human race that He created so much that He developed a plan that would eventually overcome the terrible effects that the disobedience of mankind’s original ancestors, Adam and Eve, had on the relationship between God and the people that He created.
This plan for the spiritual redemption of mankind involved God sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to come to earth, be born as a baby in Bethlehem, grow up and live a perfect life without breaking any of God’s laws, and then through His sacrificial death on the cross take the punishment of death that everyone who broke God’s laws deserved.
As the result of Jesus completing God's redemptive plan, those people who ask God to forgive them for breaking God's laws and then ask Jesus Christ to become their personal Savior and spiritually apply His sacrificial atonement on the cross to their lives will be forgiven by God for breaking His laws, transferred out of the Devil's spiritual kingdom of darkness and made part of God's spiritual kingdom of light, made God's newly restored creations, and be sent the power of the Holy Spirit to live inside of them to give them the abiltiy`to live according to God's principles found in the Bible.
As Christians realize the great love that God had for them in having Jesus complete God’s redemptive plan, then that realization should motivate them to both live according to God’s principles found in the Bible, as well as sharing God’s love for those people around them in many ways.
Some of those people may need hear about God’s redemptive love and the wonderful relationship they can have with God after they accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Some other people may need some physical help in the form of financial assistance with their rent or heating bills as well as some food to feed their hungry families.
As Christians help those people they can tell them that just as God showed His love to them by meeting their need to have a close relationship with God through having Jesus complete God’s redemptive plan; they can show their appreciation for God showing them that love by helping meet the physical and spiritual needs of people who are struggling with living in our modern society. (Matthew 25:34-40, 1 John 3:16-18)
The more Christians worship God and feel God’s love for them during wonderful Christmas services and then share that love with those people around them, the Merrier Christmas everyone will have!
I want to wish all my readers a Very Merry Christmas.
