Christians fail to support each other (Photos)

Friday, February, 8, 2013, the Christian Fellowship Alliance hosted the Ultimate Praise Fest at the Plex in Sandhills. Doors opened at 7:00pm and the event lasted until 12:00am. More than 20 bands and performing artists came to the Plex to hold a concert in honor of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Hundreds of people showed up, yet hundreds more could have fit in the building.

While the concert was going on, there was also a game of flag football. Participants were able to skate all night with the price of admission. The Plex also included a spinning ride, a mechanical bull ride, bounce houses, a rock climbing wall, arcade games, concessions, and so much more. With an admission fee of only $12 in advance and $15 at the door, many more families should have showed up in support.

As Christians, we often lament the fact that there do not seem to be a lot of fun Christian events that we can go to. Once we are saved, many of us stop going to clubs, we stay away from certain movies, and generally avoid places that could pull us back in to sin. We claim that we wish more people would host events that are family friendly and fun. Yet, when someone does have an event that caters to our needs, we do not show up.

When we were in the world, we had no problem spending $20 to see a movie we had no business watching, to get into clubs and buy drinks, or to get into any of the other foolishness we spent our time doing. Now that we are saved, however, we can’t even spend $12 for four hours of fun in an atmosphere that worships God. We should be ashamed that we would rather support businesses that blaspheme the name of God rather than our brothers and sisters whose only desire is to serve us.
