Christians, chickens and butterflies all have something in common. They are all born again.
With Easter around the corner, we often tell the story of how an egg is born from it's mother and then when it hatches, it is born again as a chick. It's a wonderful illustration to help explain how we as humans were born from our mother but then need to be born again to become all that we can be.
March 14 is Learn About Butterflies Day. Once again we have a beautiful illustration given to us by God. A caterpillar is born and grows into a tickling critter that then must surrender its life in the cocoon to then be born again as a beautiful butterfly.
Another interesting fact is that the butterfly, like the chicken and the eggshell, must break out of the cocoon on by itself. If we break the shell early, the butterfly will not live. Just as we humans must find Christ on our own. No one can rush us or force it upon us.
Take the time today to tell your "butterfly moment " when you broke out of your shell or cocoon and became a new creation in Christ.
