Christian Slater feature film "El Gringo" auditions and casting calls

Silver Pictures in association with After Dark Films are now in pre-production on the Mexico-set action feature film "El Gringo", which is to be filmed in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. The casting directors in Los Angeles are hiring the starring and co-starring roles, while the smaller supporting roles, day players, extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles for the film's stars are being cast in Louisiana.

Joel Silver, who can be credited as practically reinventing the action film genre in the 1980's, will produce "El Gringo", Silver has produced such mega hit films as the "Lethal Weapon" franchise, "Predator 1 and 2" the "Die Hard" franchise, all of "The Matrix" films, "The Book of Eli", "Unknown" and countless others. he also has an endless line up of films scheduled through the next several years.
 
"El Gringo" will be directed by acclaimed Venezuelan director Eduardo Rodriguez from a screenplay written by Jonathan W. Stokes. Stokes wrote and directed 2009's "The Last Hurrah," a comedy about college graduate students at a house party on their last night together. Joel Silver, After Dark Films, and Eduardo Rodriguez all recently completed production on the Dolph Lundgren film "Stash House", which was also filmed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
