Christian recording artist, evangelist and frequent TBN host Carman has announced that he is battling cancer. The announcement was made via his Facebook page yesterday, Thursday, Feb 14.
On his page Carman told fans, “One week ago I was diagnosed with myeloma cancer. It is incurable and I've been given a 3-4 year window of time. Tomorrow I go in for my first bone biopsy and the process will start.”
Carman is known for his compositions like "Sunday's on the Way", "The Champion", "Lazarus Come Forth", "Revival in the Land", "Witches Invitation", "This Blood" and "The Courtroom." Billboard magazine recognized his influence in Christian music by naming him the first “Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year” in 1980. On January 22, Carman released “Anthems of a Champion.”
The singer has earned 15 gold and platinum albums and videos, and has sold more than 10 million records. The singer and evangelist stated that he would continue to minister and encouraged fans to come to his concerts so he could greet them.
“My life has always been about ministry. I have a call of God to touch lives with the gospel of Jesus Christ and that's what I will do until the Lord calls me home”
