Shoe designer to the stars and well-heeled women the world over, Christian Louboutin has stepped into the world of beauty. On Wednesday, the famed brand introduced its new Rouge Louboutin Nail Colour, available for pre-order at Neiman Marcus. Matching the famed red sole, this particular varnish in the collection is an eye-catching shade of red. The bottle is even in homage to the high heel, featuring a stiletto inspired cap.
According to a report from Women’s Wear Daily, the Rouge Louboutin is now available at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City, and 12 Louboutin boutiques in the US. Other Saks stores, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom and select Sephora stores will offer Rouge Louboutin August 6th. The complete collection of nail colors will be available for purchase August 31st.
The Neiman Marcus website features a product-inspired video by director David Lynch and an additional video on the making of the brand's Ultima Ballerina shoe. The site goes on to quote Christian Louboutin on his inspiration for his new polish: “The red sole was born from red nail polish. I am giving back to nails what the shoe took from the nails many years ago.”
Surely to be highly sought after, a bottle of exclusive Rouge Louboutin isn’t as pricey as a pair of red-soled Louboutins, but it will set you back a pretty penny. Each bottle retails for $50.
This expansion is part of the brand's continued expansion, in terms of both product offerings and global reach. Women's Wear Daily also reports Christian Louboutin has 63 stand-alone stores and 29 in-store boutiques, with plans in motion to add 15 additional stores over the next 12 months.
