Christian fiction books to add to your Christmas shopping list

Do you have people on your Christmas list that love to read but you have no idea which titles have recently become available in their favorite genre?  You know your cousin that lives in Millbrae loves reading historical romance but how do you choose the right book?  Your Uncle John who lives in Clearlake spends lots of time studying conspiracy theories, would he enjoy an international spy thriller?  And you know for certain that your nephew from Arcata loves reading books about fantastical, imaginary places, you just need to know the names of some good books.

The San Francisco Christian Fiction Examiner has done the work for you.  Here are some recently released Christian fiction titles in the historical romance, political thriller, and sci-fi/fantasy genres that are sure to please.

Historical Romance

The River Queen: A Water Wheel Novel by Gilbert Morris ( B & H Books, Nov. 15, 2011) - When her father loses the family fortune, Julienne Ashby must realize her pampering has come to an end.  The only possession the family still owns - a steamboat that has seen better days - is the only hope the Ashby has of regaining anything of their past life on the Mississippi; Julienne is determined to make that a reality.  So determined in fact, that she is willing to hire Dallas Bronte as captain, even though his fondness for alcohol has damaged his reputation with others on the river.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy

Night of the Living Dead Christian: One Man's Ferociously Funny Quest to Discover What It Means to Be Truly Transformed by Matt Mikalatos (Salt River, Sept. 16, 2011) - What happens when Luther, a werewolf trying to curb his natural desires, meets Matt who offers to help.  WIll Luther be able to change his ways before the mystery man chasing him does away with him completely?

Dragons of the Watch by Donita K. Paul (WaterBrook Press, Oct. 4, 2011) -  Ellie and Bealomondore are trapped. A forgotten city and long ago secrets force them to seek help from the dragons of the watch if they ever want to fulfill their dreams.
