Christian democrats align with Boehner; not Clinton

Several media outlets, including the Huffington Post, USA Today, and CNN reported that Hillary Rodham Clinton endorsed same sex marriage. Rodham Clinton made her announcement in a video released today.

The video was released by The Human Rights Campaign. In it, Clinton stated the following:

“LGBT Americans are our colleagues, our teachers, our soldiers, our friends, our loved ones. And they are full and equal citizens and deserve the rights of citizenship. That includes marriage.”

House Speaker John Boehner, when asked if his position on same sex marriage was likely to change, stated that he “can’t imagine ever supporting this. (Same sex marriage)”

Some Christians, who live Chicago and typically support the Democratic Party; came out in support of Boehner.

“According to the Holy Bible, marriage is between a man and woman. This is not to insult the wishes and opinions of others; but those of us who believe in the Bible should not get behind her (Clinton). On this issue; the Speaker’s views are correct.”

Others expressed a need for God to be placed above political party.

“I am not a democrat that is Christian; I am a Christian who sometimes votes democratic. My religion and faith are bigger than any political party. I am aligned with God; not elephants and donkeys.”

Others called Clinton’s announcement a major distraction that draws attention away from all the things in need of repair.
