Christian band in Japan updates fans, gives Christian relief donation organizations

I learned about the Japanese band called Imari Tones when a friend hipped me to Kickstarter.com, a cool site that helps people get funding for their projects:

The Imari Tones are a Japanese Christian Rock band that wanted to tour the United States and needed funding. I threw about 70 bucks their way, only to be charged to my Chase Ink Business card if the group met their goal.

I logged on later to discover that yes, they did in fact meet their goal and are coming to the US to tour in various cities listed on their Kickstarter.com page.

They have a video (click the video thumbnail pic above and to the left) that talks about how only 1% of people in Japan are Christians.

That figure amazed me, and it was something about the infectious way the folks in the video talked about the Holy Spirit all the way from Japan that made me want to follow their progress.

In the meantime, the devastating earthquake and tsunami happened, and the Imari Tones recently updated their fans on their condition.

"We are alright! We don't stop!" read the update from Tak.

In that same update, he gave links to a couple of organizations that he said are Christian -- and that he knows personally.

So finally, today, a good 8 days after that major earthquake happened in Japan, I felt compelled to donate to an organization that I believe has Christ behind it.

I gave $21 to the Japan Evangelical Missionary Association (JEMA) thru Crash Japan's site on my American Express card:

He also references the PAZ Japan site, which has "Good News: God is Doing Miracles in Japan!" as their website's tagline:

I hope these are both great Christian organizations truly helping people in harm's way in Japan -- and that they are caring and full of Jesus' love.

You may have seen that "God is so good!" YouTube video that went viral with a seemingly truly earnest woman praising God for "shaking the shoulders of Japan," but I felt it lacked compassion.

As Christians, I don't think we're supposed to rejoice in other people's suffering. True, she probably meant that she was hoping the earthquake would make more Japanese ponder about the risen Savior Christ, but no one wants to see innocent children or people hurt and suffering and dying.

God doesn't want anyone to perish, but all to turn and believe in His Son, who suffered Himself such a horrid death to save us.
