"Even as the Romans built a road system and established a common language in all their territories that was used by the Apostles to bring the Gospel to their generation, Jobs did something similar for our generation." -- Albert Mohler (LINK)
In case you didn't know, Albert Mohler is the president of the Southern Baptist Convention. He's an unrepentant Right Wing Firebrand whose 2008 "Evangelical Manifesto" affirmed the belief that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the only way to avoid trillions of years of unimaginable torture at the hands of the most loving creature in the universe. He also believes that Buddhism -- which Steve Jobs espoused -- is a manifestation of Satanic influence or even possession. (LINK)
"[A]ny belief system, any world view, whether it's Zen Buddhism or Hinduism or dialectical materialism for that matter, Marxism, that keeps persons captive and keeps them from coming to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, yes, is a demonstration of Satanic power."
For Christians who want to say something nice about Steve Jobs, there's a bit of a mountain they have to reframe as a molehill. If they're honest, they must believe that Jobs is at this very minute being burned alive by white hot flames, inside and out. He is experiencing agony worse than any living human has ever endured. Supernatural flames have been licking his body since the moment the cancer in his pancreas ceased to torment him. Unlike earth, where there is morphine, there are no pain relievers in hell. Steve Jobs is experiencing the absolute worst pain imaginable, and there will be no reprieve. Ever. Even after the universe has ceased to exist, Steve Jobs will be burning.
Because he didn't believe that Jesus sacrificed himself to himself to forgive us for being the way he made us.
"We have to measure life by its eternal impact, even as we are thankful for every individual who makes this world a better place," said Mohler. "But, don’t expect eternal impact to be the main concern of the business pages."
Thank you, Jesus, for giving us Steve Jobs, and letting us use his IPhones and IPads and ITunes and that handy GPS free app that has been getting us from Point A to Point B for the last five years. Also, thank you Jesus for burning him forever to reward him for doing what he thought was a good thing for humanity. It's obvious to us that he was a horrifying person, determined to spread the influence of Satan in any way, and for that, he deserves everything he's getting right now.
But for an unrepentant heathen deserving of nothing less than the worst torture imaginable for eternity, he wasn't a bad guy.
Yeah. Thanks, Albert, but you know what? You can keep your grotesque beliefs. You can keep your eternal hell and your left handed compliments and your abusive, petty god. You are a sadistic and heartless bastard, and we don't need your filthy doctrine in the 21st Century.
There. I said it.
