Christian Activities goes offline for upgrades

Nashville's oldest non-denominational Christian arts & entertainment publication, Christian Activities, is going through some big changes, including a much-needed facelift.

Founded as a free one-page concert calendar in the late 1980s, Christian Activities was formally launched in 1992 as the 4-page Christian Activities Newsletter before growing into Christian Activities Magazine in the mid 90s.

After launching on the web in the old Geocities community in 1995, Christian Activities got its own domain in 1999 and a new design. After 12 years, the site badly needed both a facelift and a more updated and user-friendly database.

On Mon. Jan. 30, 2012 Christian Activities went offline in preparation for moving to a new server and unveiling its new look and format. While the new look will not be a radical departure from the last 12 years, the site will have several new features that will make it easier to navigate, find old articles, use the calendar and enjoy the website.

The new and improved web site should be up in a week or so. Stay tuned for the launch announcement or keep checking www.christianactivities.com.
