Christ the King Hoop prospect schedules visit to Alabama

Jon Severe (Christ the King/ Middle Village (N.Y.)) announced that he will take his fifth and final official visit to Alabama on Feb. 25, and trim his list shortly thereafter. However, that has not stopped West Virginia and Boston College from continuing to pursue him. Boston College head coach Steve Donahue and West Virginia associate head coach Larry Harrison were both at Severe’s game on Feb. 20, according to ESPN’s Adam Finkelstein.

Severe, the 35th best shooting guard prospect in the class of 2013 according to ESPN Recruiting Nation, has the ability to get to the hole going north and south as well as east and west as he possesses a lightening first step. The 6-2 guard also likes to get out in transition.

Severe has offers from Alabama, Boston College, Dayton, George Washington, Houston, Pittsburgh, Rhode Island, Seton Hall, South Carolina, Towson and West Virginia. He previously visitedGeorge Washington (Sept. 15, 2012) and Rhode Island (Sept. 21, 2012).

Other recruiting news:

- Dwayne Morgan (Baltimore, Md./St. Frances), the 29th best prospect in the class of 2014 according to ESPN Recruiting Nation, took in the Duke-Maryland game (Feb. 16) on an unofficial visit to College Park. The 6-7 small forward also has recently added Arizona to a growing list of offers that includes Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, Seton Hall, South Florida and UNLV.

- Seton Hall is still in pursuit of new talent from the class of 2014. This week alone the Pirates have offered power forward Logan McLane (Greenville, N.C./Greenfield School) a scholarship and hosted Wade Baldwin (Metuchen, N.J./St. Joseph's) and Marques Townes (Perth Amboy, N.J./St. Joseph's). Baldwin, a 6-3 point guard, has offers from Boston U., Massachusetts, Rice and Seton Hall while Townes’, a 6-3 shooting guard, recruiting activity is unknown.
