Christian artist Chris Tomlin is returning to Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington Friday, April 12, 2013. His scheduled appearance is part of the “Burning Lights Tour.”
Tomlin’s latest album, “Burning Lights” went on sale Jan. 8, 2013. This album is the follow up to his 2011 Grammy® winner, “And If Our God Is For Us.”
The “Burning Lights Tour” opens February 19, 2013 in Charleston, WV.
Tomlin is taking his 34-stop tour to New York, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Dallas, Tampa, and several other cities before coming to Chicago’s Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, IL.
In discussing his latest album, Chris Tomlin stated, “It’s amazing sitting here thinking that this many years past, this many years on, I’m still making records and still making records that mean something to people—not just doing it just to do it,” Tomlin said. “I feel that it’s a very important responsibility that God’s given me, to write songs for His Church and to give people a voice to worship God, so I take that very seriously. So I’m not just throwing a bunch of songs together to make a new record and hope that it just rides on the wind of what I’ve done in the past. I want it to be the very best thing I've ever done every time.”
Kari Jobe joins Tomlin on his nationwide tour and Pastor Louie Giglio will join on selected dates.
The tour is slated to wrap up in Denver on Tomlin’s 41st birthday, which is May 4, 2013.

A Grammy® award winner and winner of 18 Dove awards, Tomlin said, “This is record number 10 for me, and it's so exciting to feel this great about it. We definitely did not hit cruise control. This record developed in a way that no other record has and I feel it's the strongest thing I've ever put together.”
“It's not just about good marketing,” Tomlin says. “It's songs that become part of the fabric of the culture. That's God's spirit, God's favor on a song. And to be part of that in some little way is so special. It lasts so much longer than quick fame.”
