Not many people recognize the country honky-tonk band 'Chris Shiflett and the Dead Peasants', despite some knowing Shiflett as the guitarist of the widely popular band, Foo Fighters. The Dead Peasants have been playing shows across the US this summer, but those days are limited. Shiflett has confirmed that the Foo Fighters are set to head back into the recording studio early next year, a follow-up from their 2011 album, 'Wasting Light.' Shiflett told Rolling Stone, "We actually just started making a new Foo Fighters record within the last few weeks. We've started rehearsing." This coming about a year after frontman Dave Grohl released word that the band was going on a long hiatus, the fans can now breathe a heavy sigh of relief.
The Dead Peasants have seen a rise in their popularity over the past few years, however with the call of the Foo Fighters, comes their immediate break. The material has been written and hints have been dropped about the record being recorded in a way that never has been done before. No one seems to have any ideas about this, but it will definitely give Foo Fighters fans something to look forward to in 2014.
