Chris Robinson Brotherhood to play The Pressroom June 24: Tangled up in blues

Consider the “experiment” a success. And thanks to a particular musical mastermind’s March 31 announcement of An Evening With Chris Robinson Brotherhood, any doubters can see for themselves when Danny Zelisko Presents brings the sometimes Black Crowes frontman and his band of blues brothers to play The Pressroom in Phoenix on June 24.

The Brotherhood – Robinson, fellow Black Crowes member Adam MacDougall, Ryan Adams collaborator Neal Casal, bassist Mark Dutton, and drummer George Sluppick – began as a grand exploration with the musical accomplices playing a “California residency tour” in 2011.

But as described by Robinson in Rolling Stone, the fivesome was fated to take their explosive show on the road. “When we put all the pieces together and started getting the songs, the idea was not to look too much into the future – ‘Let's be present with this and let's see how we feel.’"

“It was just the five of us and our friend, our tour manager, in a van. We did 13,500 miles in a van with just us. I think a couple of weeks into that, we started to let the cosmic vibes flow through us and we realized, ‘Oh, wow, this is something that feels really good.’”

The rest as they say is history. Since that brief Golden State sojourn, The Brotherhood has thrilled the masses with a 118-show tour and released two full-length albums, both in 2012 (“Big Moon Ritual” and “The Magic Door”).
And just so their loyal legions don’t think they’re slacking, Chris Robinson Brotherhood returns with their third stellar effort in a little under two years with the April 29 release of “Phosphorescent Harvest.” The new record features original songs that build on the California group’s impressively growing repertoire.

Tickets for An Evening With Chris Robinson Brotherhood ($22 in advance, $25 day of show) will be available for purchase on Friday, April 4th at 10 a.m. via http://www.dannyzeliskopresents.com/ Tickets are subject to a surcharge.
