Whether your goal is to increase muscle mass, get lean and toned, or just get stronger, strength coaches agree that big, compound lifts like the squat and shoulder press are the way to get there!
Chris Riley, the owner of Dallas Strength and Conditioning, and regular on 70s Big, will be coming to DEFY!, a CrossFit and powerlifting gym in Broomfield, on January 11-12, 2014 to coach his unique Strength Seminar to Denver-area lifters. The seminar will provide programming and hands-on coaching in the squat, shoulder press, deadlift, bench press, and power clean, along with proven techniques for assistance exercises and mobility work.
Along with the exercises themselves, Chris will work with participants in how to best program them into their training for particular sports, including CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting, Strongman, and of course powerlifting.
The training will go from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm on Saturday 1/11, and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday 1/12. Online registration and more information is available at Dallas Strength and Conditioning. The seminar will be held at DEFY!, at 6850 W. 116th Ave, Unit A, in Broomfield.
Chris Riley has a host of credentials under his (weight) belt. He holds a masters degree in Exercise Physiology, with a thesis taken for publication in the International Journal of Exercise Science. He has coached clients ranging from kids to seniors, and from strength athletes and football players to, as he phrases it "normal folks trying to lose weight". He is also an accomplished athlete in his own right, having competed in powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, strongman, and the Scottish Highland games, to name a few.
