Chris Pine on Lohan, Tinseltown: 'Hollywood is like living in a weird bubble'

When veritable unknown Chris Pine took on his role in "Just My Luck," his co-star Lindsay Lohan was at the height of her fame. The Hollywood Reporter on Jan. 2 shared the actor's experience when he was on a New Orleans set with "The Mean Girl" nearly a decade ago.

Pine told the Los Angeles-based publication that working with Lohan was "fascinating to watch."

However, hindsight shows something really telling to this now older, wiser thespian.

Chris asserted that when that happens, "...it's really a distinct moment in someone's life...you see what's really wonderful about what we get to do and what's really dangerous about it."

As the young actor who would later become a huge star watched Lindsay Lohan start to crash and burn, he decided to take on a different work ethic: To work hard and to not believe his own press.

Pine uttered, "Hollywood is like living in a weird bubble. A bunch of people take care of you and get you stuff and you're the center of that little microcosmic world."

He added, "You start believing that it is real and...[that] you deserve it."

Well, the 33-year-old A-lister seems to have sidestepped this way of thinking as he moves from the Star Trek franchise as Captain Kirk to playing the late Tom Clancy's most famous character, Jack Ryan, in "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit," coming to the big screen on Jan. 17.

Meanwhile, even with all this fame and with all these great roles, Chris Pine is not turning into a Lindsay Lohan or a typical Tinseltown type in the least. In fact, he called Lohan's existence back in 2006 "...a real cyclone of insanity," a place that this Hollywood heavy hitter is determined not to visit. And for that we say rock on Chris Pine, rock on.
