Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul won the MVP of the game as he helped lift the Western Conference over the Eastern Conference, 143-138 in the 2013 NBA All-Star Game last night in Houston Texas. Paul had 20 points, 15 assists and four steals. New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony had 26 points, 12 boards and three assists to lead the East. Paul had the following to say to ESPN.com after the game:
"You just want to play fast. I like to throw the lob. I like to see guys hit 3s. When we're out on the court with all that firepower, why wouldn't you want to make passes? You've got KD filling one of the lanes, you've got Blake, Kobe on the wing. There's nothing like it."
Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant had 30 points while Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin added 19 points for the West. For the East, Miami Heat stars Dwyane Wade and LeBron James scored 21 and 19 points respectively.
The win gave the West their third win in a row and marks their sixth victory of the East in the last ten years. The East still leads the all-time series, 36-26.
