Chris Mattus helped catch a car burglar and now says that he wants to be a police officer when he grows up -- Chris, you see, is only 8-years-old! The young Georgia boy was looking out the window of his home when he noticed someone trying to break into his parents' car. On Dec. 17, FOX News reported that Chris' mom called police -- but it was Chris that gave authorities a description of the would-be burglar.
"I said, 'There was this guy outside and he was looking in your car and another guy came down and joined him and they were both walking down to the next driveway,'" Chris explained.
Chris Mattus saw the car burglar and paid close attention to detail -- when he talked with police, he told them everything he had seen and was even able to give a clear description of the two men he saw in his driveway. Because of Chris, police were able to locate both men. One of the men has been charged with loitering and Chris is happy he helped. In fact, FOX News reports that Chris is considering becoming a police officer when he grows up -- since he's such a good detective, that might be a wise career choice!
Brookhaven Police Chief Gary Yandura said that Chris Mattus will be recognized at an upcoming city council meeting.
