AUSTIN, Texas -- A funeral procession for former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle started in Midlothian, Texas and ended in Austin Texas.
Early Tuesday Crowds gathered along Interstate 35 to remember the fallen hero and to catch a glimpse of the white hearse carrying his flag-draped coffin.
Approximately 200 motorcycles, motorcoaches, police cruisers and other vehicles made the 200-mile journey to Austin, departing Midlothian, the small town 25 miles southwest of Dallas where the 38-year-old Kyle lived with his family.
The procession ended at the Texas State Cemetery for Kyle’s burial. He was a celebrated veteran considered the deadliest sniper in the history of the U.S. military.
Kyle and friend Chad Littlefield were shot multiple times at a remote shooting range Feb. 2. A suspect is in custody.
