Chris Kyle, author of 'American Sniper', was shot and killed at Texas gun range

Chris Kyle, America’s most lethal sniper, was shot and killed in Texas Saturday, February 2. The most ironic and devastating part of this story is that Kyle met his untimely end at a gun range, along with another man. The shooter, a Marine who has been suffering from PTSD, is in custody and is being charged with both murders.

After four tours in Iraq, the Devil of Ramadi set the record for the most sniper kills, clocking in over 150. Kyle received two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars, and earned a bounty on his head from Iraqi insurgents who feared his trigger finger.

Chris Kyle was a soldier, a Navy SEAL, a legend, and an author. Along with Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice, Kyle wrote a book titled American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History. The book was published by William Morrow and dedicated to his wife and children.

The book contains photos and stories, allowing the reader to be a part of Kyle’s intense and often dramatic experiences. After losing two of his closest friends, and being shot himself, Kyle was no stranger to pain of war.

Review of the book will be posted in the near future.

You can find American Sniper at any of Tulsa’s local book stores: Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, and Gardners.
