The title of Chris Kluwe's article pretty much says it all. "I Was An NFL Player Until I Was Fired By Two Cowards And A Bigot" tells about how Kluwe was removed as punter for the Minnesota Vikings simply because special teams coordinator Mike Priefer did not like Kluwe's gay activism.
Kluwe says he wrote the article early in 2013 and recounts his 2012 season and all that he suffered at the hands of Priefer. His intention for coming forward now is to keep Leslie Priefer from ever being given a head coach position in the NFL again.
This is a big deal and the timing of Kluwe's article could not be worse for Priefer. Currently the Minnesota Vikings are looking for another head coach and Priefer is on the list of contenders. A scandal of this magnitude could truly be career ending for him and that is clearly Kluwe's intent.
Kluwe contends that the 2012 season was very hard on him due to Priefer's constant gay bashing. He alleges that Priefer would make comments both directed at Kluwe and often just in his presence about his distaste for homosexuality.
The entire article penned by Kluwe is certainly worth a read. Obviously the bigot he refers to is Mike Priefer and the two cowards are then head coach Leslie Frazier and general manager Rick Spielman.
