Chris Jericho is one of the most exciting and beloved superstars in the history of wrestling, and he has made his return to the squared circle yet again. On the evening of June 30, 2014, Jericho returned to the WWE again on "Monday Night Raw" by confronting The Miz, who also returned. Over the years, Chris Jericho has departed the company and found his way back again.
When he returned on Monday night, Chris Jericho was met with a huge ovation. The happiness soon faded though as The Wyatt Family came out and absolutely destroyed him.
Jericho has had other successful returns and with being the lead singer of his band Fozzy, he's had a number of them. Throughout time, Chris Jericho has left wrestling for a while and then come back again, only to leave later on.
Over the course of his career, he has won 30 championships between WWE, WCW, and ECW. He's been wrestling since 1990 and has been with WWE since 1999. Let's take a look at some of the numerous departures and returns that Chris Jericho has had in wrestling.
~ In August of 1999, Chris Jericho made his long-anticipated debut and had a promo face-off with none other than The Rock.
He wrestled on a consistent basis for the company until August of 2005 when his contract had officially expired with WWE.
~ Beginning in September of 2007, a series of binary messages began airing on WWE television, but it wasn't immediately known that it was for the return of Chris Jericho. Two months later in November, Jericho returned to interrupt a ceremony with Randy Orton.
~ In September of 2010, Jericho was punted in the head by Orton, who was doing the "illegal" move to anyone and everyone. This "injury" was used to write Jericho off of WWE television yet again.
~ Starting in November of 2011, vignettes started airing on WWE television again, and these were promoting the return of someone, but not specified as Jericho. On the first episode of "Raw" in 2012, Jericho came back and did a creepy, smiling, non-speaking gimmick.
~ In July of 2013, Chris Jericho was attacked by Rybaxel and this was used to have him written off of TV again. Of course, he was going back on tour with Fozzy and had some acting gigs to do as well.
~ This has all led Jericho's return on "Monday Night Raw" where he was beaten down by The Wyatt Family.
There's no telling how long Jericho will be back this time, but wrestling fans will be happy for the time they have.
