The third episode of The Ultimate Fighter 18 features some drama involving Julianna Pena, who won her fight in the previous episode and gave Team Tate the right to match up Chris Holdsworth against Chris Beal, a member of Team Rousey.
In the beginning of the third episode, some fighters on Team Tate accuse Pena of leaking important information to Team Rousey. Members of Team Tate believe that Pena has revealed to the other team the matchups that Team Tate has put together.
Pena denies saying anything to Team Rousey and tries to point the finger at fellow teammate Roxanne Modafferi.
Pena says to Modafferi, “I don’t want to be pointing fingers. However, Roxanne, you sleep in the same room [with members of Team Rousey]. Did you say anything?”
Modafferi assures her team that she did not leak any information to Team Rousey.
Cody Bollinger, who trains at Millennia MMA in Rancho Cucamonga, says, “She pointed the finger at Roxanne, and that made me pretty upset.”
Later in the episode, Pena and Holdsworth sunbathe by the pool and talk about relationships.
Pena speaks to the camera and says, “I like Chris a lot. I think he’s a totally nice guy.”
Holdsworth says, “She’s always been nice to me since Day One. It’s a lonely time these six weeks. I might need a little company. I like flirting with girls, and I like flirting with Julianna.”
At the house, Pena apologizes for pointing the finger at Modaferri. Modaferri accepts the apology, and the two women hug to reconcile with each other.
Two women who haven’t reconciled with each other are Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate. The two women get into a heated argument.
Rousey says, “I’m gonna break [Tate] to the point where she’s never gonna be able to put a string of wins together ever again.”
After getting playfully teased by his teammates for getting a letter of encouragement from Pena, Holdsworth steps into the cage with Chris Beal, who is known for his striking skills. Surprisingly, Holdsworth’s striking is better than Beal’s; he knocks down Beal with punches before tapping out Beal with a guillotine choke.
With the win over Beal, Holdsworth gives Team Tate the right to choose the next matchup. Tate chooses to match Modafferi with Team Rousey’s Jessica Rakoczy.
