When Chris Soules was sent home on the latest episode of "The Bachelorette," there was immediate speculation that he would become the next star of "The Bachelor." On Tuesday, July 15, host Chris Harrison answered questions from fans on whether the farmer from Iowa really will be handing out the red roses soon.
Monday night's episode featured Andi Dorfman and her three remaining men, Chris, Josh Murray and Nick Viall in the Dominican Republic, where they stayed at the Paradisus Punta Cana resort. To help promote the resort, Chris H. took over the resort's Twitter handle to answer questions from the show's fans.
One person asked if producers have chosen the next Bachelor yet. Chris H. replied that that they have not and that the spot is open right now. Fans of the farmer don't have to despair though since he does have a good chance of making it. Chris H. added to his answer that Chris S. is "obviously on the short list" for the role. When another fan asked if Chris S. could be the next Bachelor, Chris H. replied that Chris S. would be a great choice but that as of now there are also others in consideration.
Who may be the other men in contention for "The Bachelor" starring role? Perhaps producers are also considering Marquel Martin, who was a hit with fans and immediately had some people saying that he should be the next Bachelor after Andi sent him home early on in the competition. However, since Marquel, as reported by People Magazine, will be seen in the upcoming spin-off "Bachelor in Paradise," which premieres this August, producers may not want to cast him in yet another show.
One person who believes that Chris Soules may very well indeed be the next Bachelor is Sean Lowe. As the episode aired, the former Bachelor tweeted that he thinks that Chris just got dumped into the starring role. Andi Dorfman herself even hinted that Chris may be the next Bachelor when she tweeted that women will be thanking her for her decision to let him go.
