Chris Cornell is hitting the road for what's being dubbed the "Second Songbook Tour." The Soundgarden frontman has been touring with the band in support of last year's King Animal, and will feature solo arrangements from the album on the upcoming solo acoustic tour. Fans love him for his unique identity, which he has managed to preserve for more than two decades as a singer, songwriter and lyricist.
The new slate of dates pick up where Cornell's 2011 solo "Songbook Tour" left off, and will again feature the singer-guitarist performing stripped-down versions from the Soundgarden catalog as well as solo work from his 2011 solo LP Songbook.
Cornell will be stopping in Chicago at the Cadillac Palace Theater on Friday, November 1st. The show is at 8 pm. Tickets for this show will go fast, and they are available starting Friday, August 16th at 10 am. Tickets for this show range between $44 and $79. The pre-sale for American Express cardholders begins on August 14th, along with venue pre-sales on the 15th. This show is sure to be spectacular, especially since it is the first time U.S. fans will be able to hear acoustic arrangements of songs from 2012’s King Animal.
This year the singer-guitarist launched the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, which aids needy children. One dollar from every ticket sold will go toward the foundation, and portions from additional proceeds will be donated to the ChildHaven’s Creative Music Therapy Program Expansion.
Cadillac Palace Theater is located at 151 W. Randolph Street in Chicago. For more information, please visit www.broadwayinchicago.com.
