The moment we've all been waiting for (at least I have) is finally upon us.
Variety learned yesterday that Chris Cooper (“The Town”) has joined the impressive ensemble cast of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” and he will be playing classic Spider-Man bad guy Normal Osborn.
The character was famously inhabited by Willem Dafoe (“The Boondock Saints”) in Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy, and in the comics he becomes the villain Green Goblin.
As we know from the first movie his character is dying from some form of disease that Doctor Curt Connors was trying to find a cure for.
In the new film Osborn will be a mentor to Peter Parker (played by Andrew Garfield), and his son Harry (Dane DeHaan) will become his friend .
The always reliable Cooper joins the previously mentioned and Sally Field (“Lincoln”), Emma Stone (“Gangster Squad”), Jamie Foxx (“Django Unchained”), Paul Giamatti (“John Dies at the End”), Felicity Jones, and Shailene Woodley (“The Descendants”).
