Chris Christie confronts disrespectful heckler

Another "enlightened," "pro-tolerance" liberal who was hurling non-stop smears and personal attacks at California GOP gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman Wednesday unexpectedly found himself face-to-face with New Jersey governor Chris Christie, who confronted him for yelling that Whitman looked like Arnold Swarzenegger in a dress.

From The Upshot:

"You want to yell? Yell at me, but don't give her a hard time," Christie said into his microphone. But Christie didn't stop there: "It's people who raise their voices and yell and scream like you that are dividing this country," he said. "We're here to bring this country together, not divide it." The audience roared with cheers and applause.

As we saw with Ronald Reagan, it is those who confront liberalism and all its adolescent stupidity who find the country uniting enthusiastically behind them, not those who try to "reach across the aisle."

Right on! Love Christie. Hope he changes his mind and runs for Prez one day.

I just watched the clip, the only disrespect I saw was from the fascist masquarading as a governor - Chris Christie. Meg Whitman is afraid to debate American citizens, and she had to have the bloating red faced school yard bully step in to shout down the opposition. I'm surprised he didn't have a stroke.

You sound so unhappy and mean. Don't you think we have bigger fish to fry than hurling personal appearance attacks on public servants like Christie? I hope you are not sick or terminal. Live life, try being less vicious. Things might get better for you.

Really? You must not have seen the same thing I saw! Wake up! Clean off the glasses, dig the wax out of your ears and try again.

    You LIE!

What a fat slob...I thought he was just chubby, but then I saw a full length view. He's got to be at least 300 pounds!

Politics is ugly. Meg Whitman should have fought her own battles. Gov. Cristie set women's equality back 20 years by his actions. It does not bode well for her future in politics. Can you imagine Hillary Clinton tolerating his interference? - lg

I don't believe there was any public heckling involved. The DNC picked who they believed could win the election and Ms. Clinton graciously accepted their decision. When she accepted a position in the Obama administration, she validated her commitment to public service. Apples and oranges, my friend. Apples and oranges - lg

Have YOU ALL forgotten the TEA PARTY ?????????????????????????????
Will Christie stand up to them also ?????????????????

Probably not. They've got plenty of backwards bullies in their corner already.

I don't think this guy was disrespectful to be honest. He asked Meg Whitman a question and Christi, armed with a microphone yelled at the guy and did not let him get a word in. Christi was the aggressor here. This was not a fair confrontation. Notice that Christi moved towards the much smaller man.

I also have to comment that I think he hurt Whitman. Notice people are talking about what a bad ass Chris Christie is and not about Whitman. He should have let her fight her own battles. This fat pig loves to bully people and he knew he had size, a microphone, booming voice and favorable crowd. Since when is it disrespectful for a citizen to ask a potential governor a question. The idea that Christie is a bad ass laughable. I would like to see him come down to a local blue collar bar and get in people's face like. I hope he decides to run for president. When the tea party finds out how taxes have skyrocketed in the suburbs and that he is not purely conservative on many issues Sara Palin and Mike Huckabee will roast his fat ass.

Can you comment with out such language and disrepect or is that how you feel powerful. Too bad for you.

How many people on this thread are registered voters in California? And since when was Gov Christie's name on the California ballot? Is he planning on running the affairs of two states? Too bad Meg Whitman won't have Christie here in California 24/7 to fight her battles for her.

I'm a registered voter here in CA (Kalefornia) and we do not need FNG's from out of state to infect our Republican POCs. OH! in return the comment about "language" I would have prefered CORPULANT BOTTOM BULLY. Go back to New Jersey

I'm a registered voter in CA. Unfortunately, Meg Whitman is no conservative and will likely turn out to be Arnold II if elected. (Still a better choice than Moonbeam Brown.) And while I'm sure Meg felt no need for anyone to come to her defense - The woman is plenty tough, capable and accomplished on her own - she also exhibited the intelligence and grace not to jump and and down and make a whole new issue out of it like a banchy feminist when Christie spoke up. Christie's comments, however, were right on and simply displayed, once again, his clear thinking and strength. Liberals clutter dialogue and distract from the issues with all their childish name calling and smears. (Just read the above comments) But then, they couldn't win on the issues if they actually told the people what they intended to do and their real objectives.

Please feel sorry for the poor people from NJ that did NOT vote for this loathsome, callous bully. He’s no prize! If I lived in California I would be more concerned that a candidate relinquishes control of the situation instead of stepping in and responding to the person herself. Would Ms Whitman allow something like this to happen at Ebay? I don’t think so especially if she was in charge. I watched the whole thing and Christie was most certainly the aggressor/bully of the whole incident. Stay vigilant Californians, it’s YOUR state don’t let an outsider but in…especially this “big butted bully!”

in stead of whining about christy or heckling whitman why don't you liberals ask how you are going to pay your bills!you are broke! you have a huge deficit and a 550 billion unfunded pension liability ,how are you going to pay for that largess that was dumped on you by governor moon beam.your anti-business regulations and phony environmental rules are driving jobs out of california.clearly your only hope is to get rid of the national socialist democrats.

Lest YOU FORGET who it was that: 1. Started two(2) WARS, 2.Let the BANKERS run amok, 3. Allowed "BROWNIE" to sink New Orleans. 4Instituted a tax cut in his first term reducing all of our states income, 5.Have YOU ALL forgotten the TEA PARTY ?????????????????????????????
Will Christie stand up to them also ?????????????????6. WHINE OFF

@ Anonymous... Wherever you;re located... Stay there. It's your types of nosy busy bodies that don't have a stake in California that wish to pop off about anything and everybody else other than your own local crappy lot in life.

We are broke because of corporate greed. The system is flawed and unsustainable. Any system that draws its strength solely from greed and self-interest is destined to die a horrible death and take many innocent bystanders with it. You keep supporting what ruined the country. Meanwhile, the people you oppose and badmouth with your quippy buzzwords will keep trying to put out your fires. Please don't breed, idiot.

I see that the Honorable Chris Christie's defense of the damsel in distress Meg Whitman has not seemed to have helped her in the polls with Jerry Brown. What a humiliation to lose after spending what will be close to 200 million and having to send in for the new God of the Republican Party.

  • Anonymous 1 year ago

Chris Christie doesn't seem all that heroic considering that he could easily call upon his contingent of state troopers traveling with him to back him up if things got too hot. What a coward. I'd bet $100 that he entertains weird fantasies about his mother. It's so typical with his type.
