Chris Caldovino returning to 'Boardwalk Empire'

Note: Spoilers about the season three finale follow.

At the end of the third season of “Boardwalk Empire,” Tonino Sandrelli (Chris Caldovino) was told to leave Atlantic City after he killed Gyp Rosetti (Bobby Cannavale). Well, according to a March 13 report from The Hollywood Reporter, Tonino is returning to the “Boardwalk” for the HBO series’ fourth season.

Caldovino has signed on to appear in five episodes of the upcoming season, which is currently in production and will air sometime in the fall of 2013.

In season three, Tonino’s cousin, Franco, was killed by Gyp after the mobster buried the man up to his neck in sand and wacked him with a shovel. Tonino got his revenge by stabbing Gyp in the season three finale. Now that Gyp is gone, Tonino may have a bigger role under Joe “The Boss” Masseria (Ivo Nandi).

Caldovino’s other credits include HBO’s “The Sopranos” and the upcoming Martin Scorsese-directed film, “The Wolf of Wall Street,” which also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Matthew McConaughey, and Jonah Hill.
