Chris Brown fans woke up to some serious news on Sunday morning as shots were fired at a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party early Sunday morning. According to Mashable on Sunday, Death Row Records founder Marion "Suge" Knight was reportedly shot multiple times at the West Hollywood nightclub 1OAK early Sunday morning.
The party, hosted by in part by Chris Brown was a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party and some of the biggest entertainers in the business including Brown and Justin Bieber. While the details of the incident are still being gathered, US Weekly reports that the three people who were shot weren't the intended victim. Apparently, Suge Knight was not the intended target of the bullets. Instead insiders are suggesting that Chris Brown was the target.
Suge Knight unfortunately has been shot at a pre-VMAs party before, but this time it appear more serious. He was shot in the leg at Kanye West's pre-VMAs party in Miami. He was also in the car with rapper Tupac Shakur when the rapper was fatally shot in 1996. While the Death Row Records founder definitely has been hit a couple of times, he has always managed to survive.
In today’s world, the level of violence connected with the hip-hop community has always been for show. Well, until recently as there has been a significant draw to gun related events. Rick Ross and 50 Cent drive around in armored SUVs for protection and now in less than a week there have been shootings at a Whiz Khalifa concert and Chris Brown’s party. It’s safe to say the idea around hip-hop artist and gun violence isn't just a show any more as it has become a real problem.
