Chris Brown has spoken out after Death Row Records founder Suge Knight was shot multiple times while at a pre-Vieo Music Awards party co-hosted by him and singer Pia Mia in the early hours of Sunday, August 24. Immediately after the incident, Chris took to Twitter to express his thoughts.
"It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bulls---!!!" he tweeted.
As reported by the NY Daily News, at least three people were shot while attending the party, held at 1OAK nightclub in West Hollywood. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department has confirmed that a 49-year-old male, a 32-year-old male and a 19-year-old female, were wounded.
It has been widely reported that music producer Marion (Suge) Knight is the 49-year-old male victim. Some people who were at the party tweeted that Chris was the intended target. Others tweeted that Justin Bieber was also an intended victim.
There are conflicting reports as to how many times Suge was shot. Some reports have the figure as high as six times. TMZ reports that eyewitnesses and Suge's own family has said that he was hit twice by bullets.
Another source told the website that Suge was hit in the stomach, arm and other places. Celebrity party attendees, including Tyson Beckford, said that they heard four shots ring out. However many times he was shot, Suge Knight was still able to walk out of the club on his own before he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
A video posted on TMZ shows Chris in the middle of a large crowd as shots are fired and people run for cover. A male voice can be heard screaming, "Get down! Get down!" Chris looks to be pulled down by his bodyguards but seems to defiantly try to remain standing, pushing away his handlers.
It does not seem that Chris Brown's on and off girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, was at the party. Hours after the violent incident, Karrueche tweeted a photo of a favorite dish. Justin Bieber also declined to speak on the matter or act as if anything happened, tweeting instead that he was about to watch his artist Madison Beer perform at an event.
