R&B superstar Chris Brown’s former mistress and now-ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran has apparently caught the eye of Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings in recent days. Jennings, 24, posted a series of tweets on his Twitter page this past Wednesday (March 5) that were indicative of his romantic interest in the newly single Karrueche. Karrueche, however, took to her own Twitter page to shut down any brewing excitement over the possibility of a love connection.
Jennings is apparently an active participant in the trendy social media phenomenon known as “Woman Crush Wednesdays.” This flirtatious trend requires users of social-networking websites such as Instagram and Twitter to post pictures of and tweets about their female love interest. As the official name suggests, this is only to be done on Wednesdays.
Pistons center Andre Drummond, a teammate of Jennings, took advantage of the popular phenomenon last year to reach out to his crush Jennette McCurdy. McCurdy, a Nickelodeon actress who starred in the hit television show “iCarly,” got word of Drummond’s attraction to her and eventually reached back out to him. Drummond and McCurdy dated briefly as a result.
During Woman Crush Wednesday this past Wednesday, Jennings repeatedly used the term “Annie” to describe the type of woman he was interested in pursuing. When asked via Twitter by one of his followers what the term meant to him, he replied by indicating that a woman who he calls “Annie” is a woman worthy of being his wife. Unlike Drummond’s situation, however, Jennings’ love interest does not seem to be looking for a relationship with him or anyone else right now.
Karrueche and Chris Brown had been going together on and off for a long time. She developed a rather infamous reputation in the media as being Brown’s go-to option whenever his highly publicized relationship with pop superstar Rihanna began to dwindle. Karrueche, however, was always supportive of Brown’s and Rihanna’s relationship.
Brandon Jennings has been romantically linked to celebrities Teyana Taylor and Angela Simmons, the latter whom is the daughter of rapper and hip-hop pioneer Reverend Run of the iconic rap group Run-DMC.
