It looks like Chris Brown can be added to the celebrity victims of “swatting” that have been happening recently. According to the Los Angeles Times on Jan. 21, police were called to the home of Chris Brown on Monday night for a call that turned out to be false.
Police were called Monday night and told that there was a domestic violence situation going on at the home. The caller also said he wasn’t sure if his mother had been shot. When police arrived, Brown was not home. The police were greeted by members of Brown’s staff.
Chris Brown is the latest victim of the recent “swatting” that has involved Tom Cruise, Justin Bieber, Ashton Kutcher and the Kardashians.
These phone calls cause a tactical response and they sometimes include SWAT officers. These phone calls are bogus and take the police away from real crimes. Authorities did arrest an unidentified juvenile last month who they believe was behind several of the hoaxes.
