Another Grammys weekend, and another headline for Chris Brown. Rihanna’s on-again-off-again boyfriend was involved in a car crash on Feb. 9 and totaled his car, according to a Feb. 9 E! News report.
According to the Beverly Hills Police department, the 23-year old singer escaped uninjured from the crash. Brown was alone in the car at the time of the crash and told the police officers at the scene that he was being chased by paparazzi.
“Chris Brown was in a car accident this afternoon after being ruthlessly pursued by paparazzi,” Brown’s rep told E! News. “He was in his vehicle by himself headed to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy for a Symphonic Love Foundation event when two vehicles cut him off.”
The rep continued, “The occupants jumped out, with cameras, and agressively approached his vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley at which point his was cut off by two additional vehicles. Chris' vehicle was totaled due to this agressive pursuit by the paparazzi. He is okay.”
Brown is not having a great week. Earlier this week we reported that the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office is conducting an investigation into whether or not Brown misrepresented that he completed his community service hours stemming from his assault on Rihanna during another famous Grammys weekend.
There is no word on whether Brown will attend the Grammys on Feb. 10.
