Chris Brown may have wished yesterday to pass without any headline making news. This because it was four years ago on the eve of the Grammy Awards in 2009 when Chris Brown infamously lost it in his car and beat up girlfriend Rihanna. E! News reports yesterday the 23 year-old singer was involved in a car accident while according to him, being chased by paparazzi in Beverly Hills.
A rep for Brown said, “Chris Brown was in a car accident this afternoon after being ruthlessly pursued by paparazzi. He was in his vehicle by himself headed to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy for a Symphonic Love Foundation event when two vehicles cut him off”.
Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mike Foxen confirmed, “There was a car accident….I don’t believe it was totaled”, talking about Chris’ Porsche, which some reports claim was a total loss after the incident. “But I don’t work for an insurance company so I can’t say that”, the officer added.
Foxen revealed that the accident took place in Beverly Hills at 12:03 p.m., and when asked if it involved paparazzi, he replied, “according to him [Brown]”. Chris left the scene on his own, no one was apparently hurt, and his car was towed away, according to Radar Online.
TMZ reports that the police statement indicated Brown’s car collided with a wall after the R&B singer lost control, according to him, due to the paparazzi pursuit.
Brown is expected to attend tonight’s Grammy Awards ceremony in L.A. with once again girlfriend Rihanna, 24, where he’s nominated for an trophy.
