On Jan. 28, 2013, just a day after an alleged altercation with Frank Ocean and his buddies, Chris Brown posted a painted image of Jesus Christ being crucified to his Instagram account with a caption that read, “Painting the way I feel today. Focus on what matters.”
As VH1.com put it, “You know a really great way to win public support for yourself? Compare yourself to Jesus Christ on the cross.”
Reports surfaced on Jan. 27 that Brown and Ocean had come to blows during an altercation, but there is reportedly a surveillance video that proves neither singer was part of the fight. According to what Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, told TMZ, the video does not contain the beginning of the fight, so it fails to show whether Brown and Ocean did or did not partake in the melee.
Brown may be finding solace with Rihanna, who just a week or so before the incident was spied sneaking into the singer’s mansion while trying to avoid the paparazzi.
