R&B singer Chris Brown reportedly suffered a seizure early Friday morning, while at Record Plant recording studios in Los Angeles. Per reports from TMZ, the “Don’t Judge Me” star declined treatment from paramedics who were called to the scene around 1 a.m. – and refused to go to the hospital. Although the seizure hasn’t been officially confirmed, an unnamed source maintains that he used to suffer seizures as a child.

Brown also made headlines earlier this week when he announced that he might be retiring from the music industry. “Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur [sic] music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when I was 18,” the “Look at Me Now” rapper said of his notorious 2009 assault on then-girlfriend, Rihanna.

News of his “impending” retirement may not come as a surprise to many. Since the incident, Chris has been plagued with misfortune, frequently making the news for traffic infractions, public squabbles, and Twitter rants. Brown is scheduled to perform in Ontario, headlining Summer Rush on Aug. 30 at Wild Water Kingdom. But his troubling reputation has prompted a petition to prevent him from performing.

Chris Brown isn’t the first in Hollywood to have reportedly suffered a seizure. Rapper Lil Wayne had multiple seizures earlier this year, and in March was even admitted to the hospital; he claims that his epileptic attacks happen without warning and cause him to black out. Although the nature of Brown’s condition has yet to be confirmed, his lady friend, Karreuche Tran tweeted: “Prayers all day” – likely in response to the scare. Chris’ camp has yet to release any further comments on the incident.
