Chris Austin has resigned as Clarksville Northwest head football coach after thinking about it over Christmas Break.

With his resignation, Northwest will be looking to hire their fourth head coach in the last seven years.

Austin was 2-18 in his two seasons at Northwest going 1-9 both years.

"I just felt like it was time to let someone else put their hands on the program," Austin said. "I talked to the administration and let them know how I felt and I am leaving on good standing and I want the best for the program."

The next coach will have his work cut out for him as the Vikings are 4-36 since their last winning season in 2009 as they went 7-4.

There are 25 jobs open now in Munford, Fairley, Clarksville Northwest, Ezell Harding, Forrest, Red Bank, Briarcrest, Bearden, Carter, Perry County, Powell, Monterey, Warren County, Clarksville, Halls, Raleigh Egypt, Unicoi County, Nashville Overton, Marion County, Davidson Academy, Kirby, Chattanooga Central, Jackson Christian, Knoxville Central and Richland as schools currently looking for a head coach.
